Big Walk Six-Microphone Sound Check Puzzle

A focused Yellow Tower speaker-and-listener comparison guide.

Table of contents

The sound-check arch separates a listener from six microphone feeds. Keep the test phrase and speaking volume constant, identify the loudest unused feed, and repeat until the sequence finishes. The label used here is descriptive.

Quick solution

  1. Find the pale arch with red steps at approximately 3400, 1230.
  2. Put one player in the distant listening chair.
  3. Number the six microphones in one shared direction.
  4. Speak the same short phrase at the same volume into every unused microphone.
  5. The listener signals the loudest mic's number with slow arm raises.
  6. Remove that mic from the next comparison and repeat until the reward releases.

Find the listening chair and six feeds

Enter the large beige-and-red arch. The microphone stands occupy the main platform; the listener sits away from them where ordinary sound is muffled and the selected feeds reach the headphones.

Six wired microphone stands surround the sound-check platform
Number the six stands in one agreed direction before any comparison begins.

Standardize the microphone test

Use the same phrase, distance, direction, and speaking volume at every stand. Changing the performance creates a new variable that the listener cannot separate from the feed strength.

Signal one winner at a time

The listener identifies the loudest unused feed and returns its number with slow, counted arm raises. The speaker repeats the signalled index back before removing that microphone from the next round.

The required sequence can depend on the current puzzle state. Do not publish or memorize a fixed microphone order.

Confirm completion

Continue comparing the unused set until the challenge's sequence completes and the red control-panel reward releases.

Recover an unclear comparison

Problem Recovery
Two microphones sound equally strong Retest only those two with the same phrase and volume.
The listener's arm count is ambiguous Return to neutral, then signal the number slowly once more.
The speaker loses the index direction Reconfirm microphone 1 and 6 before continuing.
An earlier answer appears wrong Rebuild only the unused comparison set instead of guessing a universal order.

Continue the Yellow Tower route

Carry the reward to Yellow Tower and use the complete Tunnels route. The Speaker Sound Matching challenge uses five movable speakers and a different comparison method.
