Big Walk Beach Timer Puzzle

A role-first route through the over-water obstacle course to the final pedestal.

Table of contents

Quick answer: treat Beach Timer as three connected jobs. First carry a teammate over the scaffold obstacles so the group can open the route. Next staff and press the active switches together. Finally move across the large staircase and bring the timer to the end pedestal for the Purple Blob.

Understand the three-part course

This is not a single sprint from the entrance to a timer. The verified route contains three different cooperation checks:

  1. Carry and doors: use teammates to get one player over obstacles so the route can be opened from farther inside.
  2. Simultaneous controls: put players on the switches shown by the current world and press them together.
  3. Staircase and delivery: maneuver through the large staircase section and bring the timer to the pedestal at the end.

Finish one segment cleanly before scattering the group across the next one. That makes a failed door or switch much easier to diagnose.

Find the scaffold course

Look above the beach water for a multilevel scaffold with a broad wooden ramp, stacked coloured walls, and a narrower raised section farther out. Open the interactive map, enable Puzzles, and select Beach Timer Puzzle if the shoreline structures look similar.

Use the broad wooden ramp, stacked coloured walls, and high outer scaffolding to identify Beach Timer. This panorama does not show the switches, timer delivery, or released reward.

The panorama is a location and layout check. It does not reveal which controls are active in your selected world or prove that the timer reached the pedestal.

Assign roles before entering the course

Use short role names so one person owns each call. These are guide callouts, not classes shown by the game.

  • Runner: the teammate carried over obstacles to reach the next usable section and help open the route.
  • Lift crew: the players who position and carry the Runner instead of all trying to climb at once.
  • Control caller: confirms every active switch is staffed and gives the shared countdown.
  • Timer handler: keeps track of the timer and owns the final delivery.

With two players, one person will cover several roles. In a larger group, extra players should support a named role rather than start a second, conflicting route.

Phase 1 — carry and open the route

  1. From the entrance side, identify the first closed route and the obstacle that prevents an ordinary walk-through.
  2. Choose the Runner and move the Lift crew into a stable carrying position.
  3. Carry the Runner over the current obstacle; do not throw several players into different sections at the same time.
  4. The Runner checks the newly reachable side for the control or access that opens the route for the rest of the group.
  5. Confirm that the door or passage actually changes before the Lift crew leaves its position.
  6. Regroup on the next stable section, then repeat only if another carry obstacle is visible.

The verified solution requires carrying a friend over different obstacles to open doors. It does not establish one universal jump, stack height, or door count for every world size.

Phase 2 — synchronize the active switches

  1. Stop at the next closed route and locate every switch that is visibly active for the current attempt.
  2. Put one player at each required switch before anybody presses.
  3. The Control caller asks each station for a ready signal.
  4. Use one full countdown—“three, two, one, press”—and make one coordinated input.
  5. Watch the connected door or route for a real state change before moving on.

If nothing changes, keep the same stations and repeat the readiness check. Do not solve a timing problem by letting everyone spam controls independently. The evidence confirms simultaneous inputs, but not a fixed timing window or whether every world exposes the same number of switches.

Phase 3 — cross the staircase and deliver the timer

  1. Identify the large staircase section and the final pedestal before moving the timer into the last part of the course.
  2. Keep the Runner and support players ahead of the Timer handler so they can clear or stabilize the next movement problem first.
  3. Maneuver the team and timer across the staircase section without abandoning the players needed for an earlier active control.
  4. Bring the timer to the pedestal at the end of the course.
  5. Pause and confirm that the pedestal has accepted the delivery before anyone removes or kicks the timer away.

This guide does not claim that picking up the timer starts a specific countdown. Read the timer and pedestal state shown in your own attempt.

Confirm the Purple Blob release

The reliable completion check is the Purple Blob becoming available. Opening a door, crossing the staircase, or merely reaching the pedestal is an intermediate state, not proof that the entire course registered.

Do not leave the area until the group can see the reward state change. If the timer is beside the pedestal but no reward appears, treat the final segment as incomplete and use the checks below.

Recover by the failed segment

Do not restart the whole course until you know which segment failed.

  • A door stays closed after a carry: keep the Runner on the reachable side, recheck the local access point, and confirm the passage changes before the Lift crew advances.
  • A synchronized door stays closed: restaff every active switch, collect a ready signal from each station, and perform one fresh countdown.
  • The group reaches the staircase without enough support: stop the Timer handler in a stable section and bring the missing support players forward before continuing.
  • The timer reaches the end but no reward appears: check for an uncleared door or still-active switch, then reattempt the pedestal delivery using the state shown by the course.

The exact reset animation, timer return behavior, and checkpoint persistence have not been captured. Do not promise that a reload, Lost & Found, or a hidden reset button will restore this puzzle object.

Know what can change by world size

The host chooses a 2-player, 3-player, or 4+-player version of the world, and some puzzle elements adapt to that choice. Use the active obstacles and controls in front of you as the authority for the current attempt.

No fixed countdown, switch count, obstacle count, fastest route, or complete per-world variant table has been verified for Beach Timer. Those details stay out of the guide until matching action-and-result captures exist.
