Big Walk includes settings for motion comfort, input preferences, and challenges that depend on particular abilities. Set them before the host starts, then adjust the display and controls for each player.

Challenge skipping

The game can skip any challenge that would otherwise be inaccessible. Challenges may depend on hearing or reading, speaking or typing, quick reactions, or fine motor control.

The host enables challenge skipping from the accessibility menu while starting a session. Discuss this before choosing the world so nobody has to explain an access need after the group is already blocked.

Motion comfort

For first-person motion sickness, open Settings > General and try a Motion Reduction Overlay. The overlay is intended to provide a more stable visual reference.

You can also adjust Field of View under Settings > Graphics. A wider view may feel less confined and may reduce discomfort for some players.

Control options

Big Walk allows players to:

  • rebind all controls under Settings > Rebinding;
  • choose from multiple crosshair styles;
  • select Hold or Toggle for supported actions;
  • use a mouse and keyboard or a game controller.

The computer version supports most game controllers, and Nintendo Switch 2 mouse mode is supported.

Communication access

Voice and text chat can be mixed in the same session. Text has the same distance and environment restrictions as voice, so a player can complete the game without a microphone while keeping the intended communication mechanics.

Some in-game items can also improve access by highlighting interactive objects. These options support different needs, but they are not a promise that every access requirement is covered.
