Big Walk Crane Button Puzzle
The focused solution for the opening crane, including the 2-, 3-, and 4-player stack heights and failed-attempt recovery.

Table of contents
The yellow crane is one of the four fixed challenges you must complete before the Crosswalk can lower. The solution is not to throw an item at the high red button. Build a player stack and let the top player press it.
Crane button puzzle is a descriptive label used by this guide, not an
official in-game name.
Quick solution
- Leave the tutorial through the large open arch and walk down the first ramp.
- Look right between the boulders for the yellow construction crane, around 3520, 1280.
- Stand on flat ground directly below the button attached to the underside of the crane arm.
- Pick up teammates until the stack is tall enough for the selected world.
- The top player presses the red button.
- Wait for the confetti, then collect the red control-panel piece released from the crane.

Find the crane from the tutorial exit
Use the large floor-to-ceiling arch to leave the tutorial building. Take the first ramp down the opening mountain and scan the right side of the path. The crane is bright yellow and stands in a gap between large boulders.
The approximate map-grid reading is 3520, 1280. You do not have the portable map yet, so the arch, first ramp, yellow frame, and surrounding boulders are more useful than trying to navigate by the number alone.
Match the stack to your world size
The host selects a 2-player, 3-player, or 4+ version of the world when starting the session. This puzzle changes the button height instead of changing its basic solution.
| Selected world | Stack to build |
|---|---|
| 2-player | One player carries the other. |
| 3-player | Build a three-character stack. |
| 4+ | Build to the four-player puzzle height; extra players can guide the base and spot the button. |
Build from the bottom upward. Keep the lowest player centered beneath the button, then add the next player before the stack starts moving. Once the top player is level with the underside control, turn the whole stack slowly instead of having the base run in circles.
Press the button and collect the piece
The player at the top must interact with the red button. The carrier at the bottom may be close to the crane, but they are not the player whose hands can reach the control.
When the press registers, confetti fires and a red control-panel piece drops from the end of the crane. Pick it up before leaving. It belongs in one of the four glass-covered slots at the beach control platform.
If the crane button does not work
| What you see | What to change |
|---|---|
| The top player is still below the button | Check the selected world and add every player required by that 2-, 3-, or 4-player puzzle scale. |
| The stack keeps sliding away | Rebuild on the flatter ground directly below the crane arm, then rotate slowly. |
| The carrier is pressing but nothing happens | Have the uppermost player target and press the underside button. |
| Thrown or kicked objects miss the control | Stop using loose objects; the repeatable solution is the player stack. |
| Confetti fired but the group cannot see the reward | Check the end of the crane and the ground directly beneath it for the dropped red piece. |
What to do with the reward
Carry the red piece back toward the Crosswalk stairs to the low circular beach control platform at approximately 3550, 1100. The opening area requires four specific rewards, so this piece cannot be replaced by a challenge from the wider island.
Use the complete Crosswalk route to locate the remaining fixed challenges and the five key cutters. If your group is struggling to lift or coordinate the stack, review the puzzle teamwork basics before trying again.
