Big Walk Greenhouse Puzzle
A listener-and-placer route for the Greenhouse sound-matching challenge.
Table of contents
Quick answer: split the group between the Greenhouse side room and sound room. Compare one side-room cue at a time with the sound-room speaker, place the matching sound in its hole, and repeat until the Purple Blob is released.
Understand what each room contributes
This is an audio handoff. The side-room player supplies information about a sound; the sound-room player compares that description with the speaker and handles the matching placement. The solution is the relationship between the two rooms, not a written sequence you can enter from outside.
Trying to describe several cues at once is the usual source of confusion. Keep one cue active in the conversation until the pair has either accepted it or set it aside for a second pass.
Find the Greenhouse
Look for the green glasshouse-style building on a ledge between the beach and the central mountains. On the interactive map, turn on Puzzles and select Greenhouse Puzzle before the group splits up.

Assign the sound roles
Use these guide names so every voice has one job:
- Sampler: stays in the side room, triggers or listens to one cue, and describes only that cue.
- Matcher: stays with the sound-room speaker, compares the description, and places the selected match in the corresponding hole.
- Recorder, if available: tracks confirmed pairs and disputed cues without taking over either primary role.
The game supports a two-player route, so the Recorder is optional. With a larger group, more voices do not help unless one person owns the final call.
Build a shared sound vocabulary
Do a short practice call before making placements. Describe sounds in the same order each time:
- Rhythm: steady, grouped, or irregular.
- Repetition: single event or repeating pattern.
- Length: short hit, medium phrase, or sustained sound.
- Pitch direction: rising, falling, high, or low when clearly audible.
- Texture: smooth, percussive, mechanical, or another neutral description both players understand.
These words are a communication aid, not official in-game sound names. Avoid imitating the sound alone; two players may imitate the same cue differently.
Match one cue at a time
- The Sampler selects one side-room cue and says its position using a stable numbering direction.
- The Sampler describes that cue with the shared vocabulary.
- The Matcher repeats the description before comparing it with the sound-room speaker.
- When both agree on the candidate, the Matcher places that sound into the corresponding hole.
- The group records the pair as confirmed and moves to the next active cue.
- Continue until every target presented by the current world has been handled.
- Stop only when the recorded Purple Blob reward becomes available.
Do not keep rearranging confirmed pairs while investigating one doubtful cue. That turns one uncertain match into several.
Diagnose the last unmatched sound
If all obvious matches are placed but the puzzle has not completed:
- Replay only the disputed cue and compare rhythm before pitch.
- Check that both players numbered their options from the same fixed direction.
- Ask the Matcher to repeat the description before moving another sound.
- Recount the active targets shown in the current room; do not assume another group's input count applies to your world.
- If the room clearly reset, clear the team's written or spoken pair list and sample again from the first active cue.
The exact rejection animation and reset behavior have not been captured, so the guide does not claim that a particular flash, noise, or silent placement is a failure signal.
Know the evidence limit
No universal sound order, fixed input count, or complete 2-/3-/4+-world variant table has been verified. The exterior image proves the location only. The action route is supported, but the live sounds must be heard in your own room.
If in-game voice is difficult to hear, keep the callouts short and take turns; do not replace the puzzle's intended separation with an invented fixed answer.
